IPL 2022 to Start From 26th March

IPL 2022 to Start From 26th March & Will Wrap Up on 29th May. Venues Will be Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium, & MCA ground in Gahunje.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 begins on 26th March. In response to a request from Star, the host broadcaster, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to a Saturday start.

IPL Governing Council (GC) took the decision on Thursday Evening.

It is virtually certain that the IPL will be played in Maharashtra.

With 55 matches being played in Mumbai, 15 more in Pune, four stadiums have been identified as host venues.

IPL 2022 Venues

The allocation of games will be 20 at the Wankhede Stadium, 15 at Brabourne Stadium, 20 more at DY Patil Stadium, and 15 at MCA ground in Gahunje.

With the exception of the UAE leg of the 2021 IPL, there won’t be empty stands like in previous editions.

According to chairman Brijesh Patel, the news has been confirmed.

The IPL season will begin on March 26. IPL 2022 schedule will be announced soon. Likewise, there will be large crowds in the stadiums, but that will be determined by Maharashtra government rules.

According to the IPL chairman, it will either be 25 percent or 50 percent of its capacity.

According to one report, Star insisted on beginning the league with a Saturday start so that it could set the tone for the season by having its first two games played in front of fans on March 27.

Because its opening day had been scheduled during the working week, Star would not have been able to take advantage of trending social media posts.

That way they could increase their viewership numbers and generate hype around their new matches by involving millions of fans from their original home countries.

They expect these international audiences to follow them into this next phase of their careers.

The cricket tournament Indian Premier League 2022 is set to wrap up on Sunday, May 29 with the playoffs to be held later in Ahmedabad.

The venues have not been decided yet but there are talks of holding them at the Sardar Patel stadium. When asked about it, Patel responded, “We will decide about the play-offs later.”

The BCCI is stating categorically for the first time that the league won’t travel overseas. South Africa and Sri Lanka were considered as overseas venues, but the BCCI decided to hold the 10-team tournament in India after the Covid situation improved in the nation.

Soon, Patel said, the complete schedule and day-by-day breakdown will be available.

As part of the BCCI, four grounds for practice have been identified, something the organizers have contemplated for quite some time.

Practice times will be assigned to the teams at BKC ground in Bandra Kurla Complex, Brabourne Stadium in South Mumbai, DY Patil ground in Navi Mumbai, and any of the MCA ground locations in Kandivali or Thane.

BCCI is also considering starting Women’s IPL next year.

For the first time in the IPL’s history, the GC has also been told that it has been able to fill up all six sponsor slots – one title sponsor and five associate sponsors. Otherwise, a few spots would remain vacant every year.
